Occasionally me & my Ss go cruisin'.
Mom pops all five of us in the pick-up and off we go!
Sue & Sam get to ride in the air-conditioned, luxury box in the back of the truck.
Mom thinks Seig and I would find something of interest along the way to check-out so we have to stay in the cab with her.
Sparky rides in his smaller personal luxury box. He has to have his own seat where we don't touch him...

She said she couldn't imagine the squirrels that lived in it. I know she was scared because i wasn't there to protect her.

We avoided a storm called Eduardo by going to the other side of the Gulf of Mexico(the pretty side). But Eduardo was causing problems there also. The rip current was too strong and the waves were VERY big (well, for Florida, they were.) So not much time in the water, but we got to hang out and have fun...

This summer I have traveled much.
Sweet Beth, kind Caryln and rather grumpy Molly hosted me, Sparky, Mom & Melissa for Independence Day.
We stopped at this famous spot along the way...
It seems like every dog and their humans were there at the same time. Here is a shot of me & Sparky.
Notice the bowl of water in the floor. Mom always makes sure we have plenty of cool water and she NEVER leaves us alone closed up in a hot car! She waited with us while Melissa got their lunch.
Unlike Willie, I can wait to get on the road. I like adventure, just not the getting there.
We are going back to the beach for a few days. Lila's first trip there. I will be there to show her the ropes!
My good friend, Rexford G. Lambert, has this terrific wide-screen at "The Compound". On a recent visit he, being the gentleman he is, gave me the best seat in the house.
We saw cars, dogs walking their humans, birds and moving trees. It was a wonderfully relaxing time!

Adventuring in Houston is hot work... Thankfully the sprinklers in this park were on. I made it my own personal refreshment bar!
Sparky's not so good at visiting new places anymore. He gets real disoriented. When we went "inside the loop" he almost fell in to Buffalo Bayou. 
He would have been Gator bait. Good thing mom had a hold on our leashes.
Had I seen a Gator, I would have eaten IT.
We went on a field trip today. I saw many new parts of the city. It was a stunning day.
When Mom travels she brings back gifts for some of us. We never know who, but usually the what is a T-shirt.
This trip Sue was the reciepient.

Now this is what vacation should be. Pampering and primping for a princess.
Salt water, sand and sticky seeds in high weeds make a princess a mess. But after this spa visit things were better.
This is not the very first thing I did on vacation, but one of the most exciting!!!!
At first I was not sure if I wanted my fur wet. But with the promise of a dry ride on float I was lured out to sea. Mom was there with me so I was game.
Within minutes I was a pro at wave-riding!
There was all of this hoopla around the house for several days. Saprky said Mom was getting ready to TRAVEL. Suitcases were out and Mom put stuff in them for several days.
Then crates were getting moved and folded up. What does that mean? Then she said the GO word. We all got to go in the car (not poor Rex)! Me, Greta and Sparky jumped and barked and carried on. We all loaded up in the car with crates and food. Riding in the car we all sat together like the angels we are on the backseat.
Then we were at The Compound! Hello Rex! Hello Margot! Hello Guinness! We've come to play. Even Greta!!!
But wait, Mom is not even going inside... Sparky is not happy. Greta is freaking out. Me and Mom are in the car. Wait! Why are they not going with us? Mom says I get to go to VACATION with her!
What is VACATION??? Will Sue be there?
Some people think camping is fun. I know the trip my mom took me on was fun. She called it powder-puff camping. We had a fire and roasted hot dogs and marshmallows. We stayed in a house and it got COLD. Guard duty was left to me so I patrolled the house all night. My mom said I kept her awake. Silly woman, I was protecting her. She was perfectly safe. I saw something called cows. They make this stuff KMc called granola. It must be an acquired taste, I tried it but it didn't taste very good. However rolling in it gave me an earthy smell.
This other creature was out there. His name is Jack and I was afraid of him. He is a registered paint donkey. He kills dogs & coyotes that get after KMc's cows. I stayed away from Jack, but gave him a piece of my mind from the far side of this pond. You would think he would know I am a princess and I'm not to be bothered.
