Did you miss me?
I have been so busy with very important things that I haven't had the time to tell you of my great adventures.
Hopefully, I will be able to tell you more soon!

My name is Minute. Some people say I'm a West Highland terrier. Some people say I'm a dog. I say I'm a princess, and this is my world.
I have been so busy with very important things that I haven't had the time to tell you of my great adventures.

Occasionally me & my Ss go cruisin'.
Mom pops all five of us in the pick-up and off we go!
Sue & Sam get to ride in the air-conditioned, luxury box in the back of the truck.
Mom thinks Seig and I would find something of interest along the way to check-out so we have to stay in the cab with her.
Sparky rides in his smaller personal luxury box. He has to have his own seat where we don't touch him...
Can you believe the size of this tree?!??! Mom took a picture of it in Alabama.
She said she couldn't imagine the squirrels that lived in it. I know she was scared because i wasn't there to protect her.
I bet I could climb that tree.
MOM!!! Road trip time.

But I am a HERO and the 'Possum Queen & I have solved the mystery (for Mom) of the "monster under the shed". For months Sparky & I have been very vocal about critters living under the shed. Mom & others thought it was just Sparky being neurotic as he would bark for hours (literally) & chew on the shed. We would start barking & want out at all hours of the night. Mom was fed-up with our behavior!!
Saturday was THE DAY. Me and my Ss were all here to help so she was going to understand the mystery once and for all. Then Sparky (and me, just not as much) would shut up or go away (????).
She spent hours clearing all the plants, bricks and stuff from around the base of the shed. Then she proceeded to clean the debris out from under it.
As she was removing the last brick a tail was evident. A bare, white tail!!! She tried to grab it, but it got away. She knew then ... That juvenile opossum Sparky & I got the other morning was not just a fluke! Yes!! There is a family of opossums living under the shed. (We TRIED to tell her.)
Well, mom took a break & was asking us just how she was going to get those varmits out of there.
I saw my opportunity! I started digging! I dug myself a hole under that shed and went to work doing what I am bred to do!
I went in and after a loud fight, I, mighty dog that i am, sent 'possums running every where!
My Ss had my back! Seig was on duty, Sparky was covering the back, Sue was confused and Sam was bored. However, we won! Mom was so proud of us. We got the juvies. Sparky had mom by the tail as she tried to escape under fence and into the woods. Seig came in & tried to help, but she got away. Sue ended up helping once things were explained to her.
There was a flurry of action and not any pictures, until after. But here are a few.
It was a dirty job!
It was a great day for all but the 'possums!
Note to Becky. 'Possum juvie does not equal cute!
Live is good...
We avoided a storm called Eduardo by going to the other side of the Gulf of Mexico(the pretty side). But Eduardo was causing problems there also. The rip current was too strong and the waves were VERY big (well, for Florida, they were.) So not much time in the water, but we got to hang out and have fun...
Here I am taking over Trey's bed
but he still loves me...
Tyler & April played cards with the other humans while I played with various plastic bottles...
Nick rested.
Jess & Laura introduced Lila to the beach.

This summer I have traveled much.
Sweet Beth, kind Caryln and rather grumpy Molly hosted me, Sparky, Mom & Melissa for Independence Day.
We stopped at this famous spot along the way...
It seems like every dog and their humans were there at the same time. Here is a shot of me & Sparky.
Notice the bowl of water in the floor. Mom always makes sure we have plenty of cool water and she NEVER leaves us alone closed up in a hot car! She waited with us while Melissa got their lunch.
Unlike Willie, I can wait to get on the road. I like adventure, just not the getting there.
We are going back to the beach for a few days. Lila's first trip there. I will be there to show her the ropes!

My good friend, Rexford G. Lambert, has this terrific wide-screen at "The Compound". On a recent visit he, being the gentleman he is, gave me the best seat in the house.
We saw cars, dogs walking their humans, birds and moving trees. It was a wonderfully relaxing time!
Thanks, Rexford!!!

There have been some sad things going on for Mom. A couple of funerals for some young men she knew. Rest In Peace Spencer and Jake.
There have been some happy things. Vacation Bible School, All America Day, painting Lila's room with Laura (they would NOT let me help...)
There have been some creepy things. Seig spent a few days with us as back-up security. There were some men "acting weird" in the woods behind the house. They wouldn't talk to Mom and ran away when she called out to them. She took Seig home and got a shot-gun.
Next on our schedule is a vacation!!!!
There are lots of pictures to get downloaded. I know you miss my beautiful face and all my adventures. But I promise to report more frequently!
TTFN (ta ta for now)
Recently I went on a goodwill mission. A friend was in hospice and I went with Mom to cheer up everyone. My buddy Tom was there.
I was a good girl. I didn't bark. Nor did I eat anything.
I know. That is hard to believe.
I was out surveying the grounds the other day. You know I have to protect this place! Two big American bulldogs came down the street with their human. They were a bit grouchy when I ran up to them. I think they wanted to fight, not play.
Mom was mad at ME. I think they don't understand this is MY street.

I know there is a tree rat headed this way...
My friend, Eve, caught one the other day! It got away.
If I caught one, I would eat it.

I have found it!!!! THE amusement park for dogs.
There were cows to chase/dodge!!! There was a donkey to scare me (and for me to stay far away from)!!! (Donkeys kill dogs/coyotes and such)
There was rides - in a truck bed on the tool box!!!
There was a real cow dog to teach me stuff!!!
There was a lake, mud, cow poop, dirt and everything a dog could want!!! I don't think I have EVER been this dirty!!!
There were no pictures.
There was FOOD everywhere (hot dogs, chips, marshmallows, pancakes)or least everywhere the humans left, I mean, dropped it.
I ate it all.

Adventuring in Houston is hot work... Thankfully the sprinklers in this park were on. I made it my own personal refreshment bar!

Sparky's not so good at visiting new places anymore. He gets real disoriented. When we went "inside the loop" he almost fell in to Buffalo Bayou.
He would have been Gator bait. Good thing mom had a hold on our leashes.
Had I seen a Gator, I would have eaten IT.

In the deep, lush landscaping here at my estate, there are all sorts of interlopers. I am very adept at the Sneak Attack!
Here I am waiting for just the right moment to attack.
It was a PALMETTO BUG!!!
I ate it.

How much fun can YOU have with a bone?
You can throw it (yes, I can throw. Seig taught me.)
You can tease Sparky with it
You can jump on it
You can bury it
You can find it again
You can roll on it
You can eat it!
The possibilities are endless
